Quick coupler / Coupler :
Device mounted on an earthmoving machine, which allows the quick interchangeability of accessories.
Coupler and quick coupler are the same devices. In this text, the term "quick coupler" will be used.
Engagement system :
The quick hitch mechanical system engages the accessory and keeps it in working position.
Locking system :
A system which ensures that the attachment is retained in its working position, in case of engagement force is lost or diminished.
There are 3 categories of prescriptions :

The design of a quick coupler with engagement from the operator’s station
in combination with a manual safety system (ex. a locking pin)
is prohibited !
NOTE : This prevents unexpected detachment of the accessory due to the non-use of the locking mechanism.
